The Scuba Trust uses a swimming pool at Heathfield School located in Ascot Berkshire as the main training base and site of our monthly "try-dive" sessions.
However, as a national charity we also organise "try-dives" upon request for disabled individuals and organisations around the UK.
Furthermore, if you are unable to come to Ascot for SCUBA training we will endeavour to put you in touch with an instructor in your area.
At The Scuba Trust we feel very strongly that the training should be run at a pace that the student is comfortable with, and should be in a small group, or in many cases on a one-to-one basis with the instructor.
As with all able-bodied people, every potential student with a disability has to undergo a medical examination before they are allowed to take a course, there are no hard and fast rules about which disabilities can or cannot take a course. Every case is treated on its merits.
However, The Scuba Trust reserves the right to refuse a try-dive or a SCUBA-diving course if we feel that an individual is unsuitable, medically or otherwise.
